Main purpose of role & level in the business:

As Group Tax Manager at Kainos, you will be responsible for all taxation affairs for the Group and will work under your own initiative to deliver taxation information to facilitate effective decision-making and control.

This is a Manager level role, reporting directly into the Finance Controller. The Group Tax Manager will also be required to assist the Deputy CFO in presenting tax analyses and recommendations to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • CAI/ACA/CIMA qualified and/or CTA qualified
  • Working in a fast-paced environment and delivering to tight deadlines

Job Description

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Manage the Group’s corporation tax compliance, including:
    • Drafting half-year and year-end tax computations
    • Prepare the tax notes for the group and subsidiary accounts
    • Calculating quarterly payments on account
  • Prepare the annual RDEC claims
  • Oversee UK VAT compliance, reviewing VAT returns prepared by other members of the finance team
  • Oversee the global transfer pricing framework, including completion of associated accounting
  • Co-ordinate overseas tax compliance for each of our subsidiaries
  • Assist with global mobility and payroll tax tasks, working closely with our internal payroll team and our payroll tax advisors
  • Provide tax and technical training to finance staff
  • Manage third party relationships with auditors, external tax advisors and HMRC/ tax authorities in relation to any tax matters
  • Preparation, reconciliation and review of tax schedules, calculations and disclosure notes ensuring audit sign off and appropriate records are collated and maintained to support the tax provisions
  • Maintain awareness of tax developments internationally and implications for the business
